Happy Memorial Day and welcome to the 3rd Trimester!

So I know I have been horrible with being on time and I completely missed last weeks post while I was in Vegas.  I didn't take a picture before I left and by the time I got home, I figured it was just too late.  Anyway, this week marks a very important milestone in Baby M's journey.  We have entered into the 3rd trimester officially (week 28) and while it would still be very difficult, his chances of survival outside my belly would be over 85%!  He is inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid and his brain is growing more complex by the day. He can also open and close his eyes now and is sleeping on regular intervals.  I think the sleep is about 30 minutes and then he is awake for almost an hour based on his movement.  He is definitely not in the right position as of now because his feet are kicking me in the low, right underside of my belly pretty regularly.  According to my book, they won't worry about his position until I am 36-37 weeks.

Baby M spent last week is the great/miserable city of Las Vegas yet again.  He's been there more than most adults at this point.  Haha.  We had a nice room with a view of all of the lights and we were able to walk as little as physically possibly considering the meetintgs and things I had to get to.  The one gift we brought home was an awesome sinus infection.  Apparently my Dr doesn't even think treating it will help so let's just try to live with it was his advice.  lovely.

The little guy this week is around 2.5 lbs and about 15 inches long.  That's pretty big in my opinion and my belly shows it!  I did have to take another morning picture (def not my most flattering time of day) just to get this one in on time this week, so I am not as glamourous as last post, but you can see that we are about to hit the pool for the Monday holiday!  Hopefully the old people next door don't mind my fat belly in a bikini.  :-)  The long weekend and the gorgeous weather we are having is wonderful.  We should get a 3 day weekend every week in my opinion!

Also, while I was working this week, our strawberries made their first appearance.  I am so excited that I can grab a handful of them daily for my breakfast/cereal etc.  Lots of other veggies in the garden are doing well also.  We have some small zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes.  None are ready to pick, but they are coming along.  The others (lettuce, peppers, canteloupe) are close behind so maybe I will take some pics next week of those.

And this one is for Danielle since she sent us these beautiful bushes.  They are our David Austin climbing Eden Roses.  When we got them, they were just little stems and a month later, we have our first roses.  At this rate, I think they can make it up the sides of the garage by late summer!  I can't wait!!  They are gorgeous already.  Thank you Danielle and Bud!

Oh, and last but not least, we can't wait to have some of our family in town this coming weekend for our 1st shower!!  We are so excited!  As an fyi, I did add another registry to www.babiesrus.com.  There isn't much on it, but there are a few things that are important.

Well, I am ready to go outside to claim my float!  I hope you all have a wonderful, fun, and safe holiday today.

Love Erin & Joey
