Week 37 is finally here!

Finally, I am a few days away from calling this sweet potato fully baked (37 weeks)!  We kicked off week 37 with my weekly trip to the OB office.  I had to have a strep B test and blood drawn to check my iron, but other than that, it was all great news.  He is still head down and his heartbeat is perfect along with my blood pressure.  Apparently my trend for being a little ahead hasn't changed and I am already 70% effaced and 1cm dilated!  If you could see my "cankles", you'd know this makes me very happy.  I mean, yes, I could still hold out until 40 weeks, but the Dr said she was surprised I was already at 70%, so fingers crossed that this little man is anxious to get out of me sooner rather than later too!   :-)

My mom and MAC visited us this weekend and we got the final few items that were needed before his arrival and made a little more progress on the nursery.  We just need to hang some curtains and get a little artwork or a shelf for one wall.  I'm pretty sure the baby won't notice if that's not done on his first day home though.  Haha.  We also watched a lot of bubble guppies and Barbie movies which Joey really loved. (jk)

While I really want to do the FuzziBunz cloth diapers in the long run, I have decided to go with disposables at least for the first month or so.  I haven't bought/received the fuzzibunz yet and I think you have to wait to use them until after the cord comes off anyway, so we have some time to figure that out and get settled for a few weeks.  I'm pretty sure I will have enough on my plate without having to wash dirty diapers asap.

In other news, and as many of you already know, my company had been really struggling over the last few months and there were big layoffs a week or so ago.  At 9 months pregnant, I was one of them, so this wasn't great timing.  On a positive note, I had been really stressed about a lack of maternity leave and work, so this will allow me to focus on the baby for a few weeks longer and just spend some quality time as a family.  :-)  I have the rest of my life to work, but only one experience of our first baby...right??

So here is my weekly picture.  Most of my maternity clothes are pretty tight now and none of my shoes really fit either, so I am happy I can live in pajama pants and t-shirts while I am home.  It's very hard to feel cute at this point anyway, so why not just be comfortable?!

Have a great week!
Love Erin & Joey
