At about 5 weeks and a few days to go, he weighs between 4.2 pounds to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. The website says he can recognize our voices and simple songs. It also said he is urinating about a pint per day now...Gross!
This past week, not a lot changed in terms of baby size or symptoms. He is still extremely active, but the great news is that he finally turned so his head is down as he prepares for his arrival. My Dr's say his heartbeat is wonderful and everything is going as expected.
Joey and I also took and Infant and Child CPR class on Sunday which was really informative. There was also a section about home safety that reminded us about a lot of dangers that we could avoid. I personally wouldn't want to jump out my window during a fire, but I definitely would not throw my baby in hopes Joey would catch him. haha. So, maybe we should invest in a few household emergency items. This was the first class of several we have lined up to take over the next few weeks. Next up is Breastfeeding For Couples. Joey is confused as to why he needs to go to a breastfeeding class, but I am sure they will explain his role somehow....otherwise, why would they offer a couples class??
The biggest thing we've done this past week is start on nursery. This has been loads of fun for me since I really only watch as my vision comes together and Joey does all of the work! :-) I don't want to show too much now, but here are 2 pictures of what he has been doing.
While he was doing all of this, I was washing clothes, bedding and tons of other stuff. I figure if the label says made in China or anywhere weird really that it should be washed, so that took some time. I also sorted through all of the clothes we've been given at showers as well as from my friend Vanessa who has a son also that was also born in August. Man, I really lucked out there since he will always have nice hand-me-downs!! Thanks V! In short, this baby already has more clothes than me and Joey combined. So when it comes to holidays, remember cash can always be put into his savings or 529 account. (this is a Todd's line...and now Joey's) :-)
Here is my 34.5 week picture! Per the Dr, I am up 23 lbs since my first appointment. I think that's being extremely generous on their part! In my dreams, but I will take it.ha I think you can even see my belly button poking out in this one.
Have a great week!
Love, Erin & Joey
