14 Week Baby Facts
*He's probably sucking his thumb and wiggling his toes in there!
*His kidneys are making urine, and his liver and spleen are doing their jobs, too.
*And he's growing lanugo, a thin, peach-fuzz-like hair, all over his body -- it will help him keep warm!
As you all know, this week was a big week for me and Baby Mosher at the Dr. We had all of the first real testing done, measurements taken, family histories, tons of blood taken and most importantly, we got to see the little one again!! This time was so much different. So here are a few key notes from the ultrasound.

-Baby M is still tracking ahead of the expected schedule size wise, so I am really closer to 15 weeks now based on size measurements.
-All other measurements of body length, neck length, brain, spine, etc look great. Neck length was the important one this week and it was well within normal range. It was so cool to see the brain disection image and see the little baby squirm when she pushed on my sides. It is awesome to think something that is only the size of a lemon can move so much and have so many obvious parts.
-We also located all 4 limbs as well as got a full finger count on the right hand. Yes, there are 5! It was stroking it's head with the left hand, so we couldn't get much definition there. We also got a great image of one foot...although the picture didn't come out as clear. I am thinking it has Joey's forehead already. :-)
-Heartbeat is about 146/bpm. So...I'm sure some of you are already guessing what the gender is just based on that. Well....the tech would not confirm since it is early and the anatomy scan test is next month. I think we will wait to announce any guesses until we are sure in 4 more weeks...when no guessing is needed!
So here are your pics!

AMAZING what the pics can show already! he has a beautiful profile :) thanks for sharing -

I know! And we thought so too. We saw it much better, but it's like taking a snapshot of a fast moving target. So, the pics weren't as good as what we saw. And we don't KNOW he is a he. hahaha. Joey is getting ahead of himself. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe how developed the baby already is! All when it's the size of about a lemon. It must have been a wonderful appointment to get to spend that much time looking at the baby and sort of interacting with Baby Mosher! It really is amazing that you can see so much with these scans. Ahhh, modern technology... :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. And again, you look gorgeous girl!
