8 weeks

Huge relief after our ultrasound on Friday, Jan. 11. We were able to see and hear the heartbeat which was really exciting and just amazing! How can there be a heart already formed in that blob of cells? :-)

Most of the cramping I had between weeks 5 and 7 has stopped and I have more energy already! No morning sickness to report either, so I've been very lucky.

We have told everyone now except one set of parents and they will be getting a surprise in the mail tomorrow to tell them. We can't wait to hear their reaction. We sent Joey's mom flowers at work and she was so confused and then cried when she read the card. I love surprising people and this is the best surprise ever!

Funny note: Joey told the nurse during the ultrasound that he had hoped it was twins!! What??? She confirmed there is only 1 in there luckily. He apparently doesn't realize how hard twins would be! LOL
